Ah yes, my friend is ready for her sleeps and it's my time to snuggle right up to her and keep her safe. This is my very important job and no one is going to stop me from doing it. Not even my goodest buddy who thinks it's his job too.

Oh yes, there has been much argument over this matter today. I'm supposed to protect our friend during the night sleeps while he sleeps on the floor. So we barked and argued for a while, mostly me sitting on him and making him uncomfortable until he gave in to my demands. Our friend had some things to say about it all, but this is just the way it needs to be regardless of what anyone else wants.

So we finally went to the sleeps and my friend got under the blankets while I kept the watch from atop where I can see and smell everything. We can't have anyone sneaking up while we're sleeping without getting barked at and booted out. I protect, this is my number one job.

My favorite spot is to make sure to cover her neck so I can hear her breathing to make sure she's okay. And it also wakes me right up in case she tries to do the sleep-walking during the night. You can never be too careful with your humans wandering off. She did do this one time, going to the kitchen without me for a midnight snackies. So no tricks during the night.

After disputing with my buddy about him getting off my pillow, he finally caved to my demands and flopped down on his side of the bed. Our pal was already fluffing the blankets and tucking us in, inspecting our fur and checking the ears for any nonsense. Both of us got our paws tickled and then it was time to go to sleep. The lights went dark and everyone got settled in our spots and ready to dream of puppy dog things.

I can hear my friend snoring not long after we'd gotten settled in to bed. It'll be a while before I go to sleep as well. Hopefully we get to see each other in our dreams. I know my good buddy is already snoring in his dreams too. His paws are kicking around across the blanket as he chases something. I guess I could help him out if I can ever get to sleep. Maybe I should try counting sheep? Or just the number of snores my friends are both putting out. Either way, I should fall asleep any, "yawn'" mome...nt noohw...
