Nixi Adventure - Overdressed Occasion
Nixi knew there was something up when she spotted Brandon putting on his jacket. Well, it wasn't just the one jacket that was odd, it was all the jackets. And the pants and the socks. Nixi thought maybe he'd forgotten that he'd put on the previous ones, but that didn't make any sense. He must be getting ready for something serious or he's just being super silly.
Brandon waddled after Shuffles trying to do the same to him, and that's when Nixi decided to keep out of site. She already had a nice coat and no reason to cover it up with an extra blanket thingy. Unfortunately, it was too late for Shuffles to hide, but he could still run. Perhaps Brandon should have tried doing the catching before he bundled himself up.
After much whining and complaining, Shuffles was eventually subdued and was dressed up as well. When he found that he couldn't grab a hold of the sweater thingy, he resorted to dragging himself across the floor.
With one taken care of, Brandon moved on to finding out where the other was hiding. The thing about being a puppy dog is that one has to remember that when hiding, the tail likes to give you away everytime. Brandon found Nixi behind the sofa cushions, her squiggly tail whapping back and forth while the rest of her was rooted deep in the fluffy safety.
Nixi was plucked out like a carrot, her paws kicking around in wonder as to how she'd been found so quickly. That wonder went away quickly and was turned to trying to figure out how to get this pesky sweater and booties off.
The three of them waddled around the apartment while Brandon put on his boots and led the way out into the hallway.
"It's too hot!" Shuffles whined as he tried to shake himself free of the sweater.
"Why do we have to wear these silly things?" Nixi barked as she tugged at the booties on her paws.
The complaining continued all the way down the elevator ride. They picked up another neighbor on the way down who was also bundled up super warm. In fact, it felt like it was getting a little too warm for comfort. Maybe they had gone overboard with things.
When they reached the exit to the great outdoors, the pups quickly realized why Brandon had made himself so fluffy. Big piles of fluffy snow were everywhere, a strange thing that neither doggy had planned on happening.
The door swung open and the cold blast smacked the puppies noses and chilled their ears. Shuffles was the first one out, but Nixi was dragging behind, nervous about getting wet and cold. They had to go for the walkies and get some fresh air.
They waddled around the area, avoiding the piles and drifts of snow that had been scooped out of the way. Nixi and Shuffles searched for something recognizable, but everything seemed to be burried. And running around was now forbidden too. Not that it was against the rules, it was just super slippery and balance took focus.
Shuffles dug into one of the drifts, tossing snow all over the others. Brandon and Nixi stood as still as possible, trying to avoid falling down while the snow began to cover them. Nixi wasn't in the mood for digging, she was already in the mood for getting back into her cozy little bed and being warm.
While very warm beneath all that clothing, Brandon realized that he too needed to potty. Perhaps he should have thought of that before he'd put on all those extra layers. Looks like just the simplest of tasks was turning out to be a whole days work at this rate.
