Skipper was stepping on my tail again, a thing he knows makes me upset. I growled at him to stop, but he just danced around and tried to nibble my tail instead. This was a thing that had been going on all morning long. Ever since we woke up, this rascal has been trying his best to tease me any way he can come up with.

Gracie won't help me out either. I can hear her scold him from the other room but she never comes and stops him. This leaves me with no other choice but to growl and snap and ruff. And if I so much as make Skipper whimper the tiniest bit, then I'm in the trouble and Gracie will come fetch me a time out.

The bed is probably the safest spot for me to escape Skipper's torments. It takes him a while to get up and I can always bark him back down when he tries. This is the only way I won't get in the trouble and I don't have to deal with anyone nibbling my paws or biting my tail.

I could hear the rain whapping the windows and the wind was sure getting a hold of the trees outside. It would be nice to have gone for a walkies, but there's no way we'd be able to find a dry spot to play on today. It's all wet. Just a dreary day.

That's when the light flashed and the booms began. It was to be expected with the rainy weather. The sounds were loud, but I know we're safe inside here. So none of this worries me at all. Well, the thunder stuff sort of makes my tail fur stand on end, but it's really nothing to be concerned about, especially with Gracie around.

So I just set my head down and started to snooze. Now's a good time to sleep right through and dream of happy things. It didn't take long for me to realize that Skipper had stopped his annoying antics. I knew it was too easy to take a nap.

I peeked out over the bedroom floor to see what my little friend was up to now. He wasn't there though. He was in fact right behind me on the bed already. I don't know if the thunder had masked his movements or if he was just getting that good. Regardless, he now had a completely different attitude and instead of teasing, he was trying to snuggle up with me.

So I settled back down on my pillow and waited for a bit to see if he'd bite my tail or some other wild antics. But my little friend was shaking. I'd almost forgotten that he was still scared of the thunder. Every time the boom rumbled through the room, he tried to wiggle under my fluffy coat just a little more.

He's such a scardie-pupper. No time to be rubbing it in though. I could be mean and get him back for annoying me earlier...that just isn't me. Not now at least. Maybe I'll get him back after the storm, you know, remind him of how his fur was practically jumping off his back the whole time. Yeah, maybe later, but not right now.

Skipper cuddled up to me in search of protection and I realized that we're tougher together. Even though he does his best to torment me and I make fun of his nubby little tail, when the going get's rough, we stick together. Yeah, bestest pals.
