Rocky Adventure - 'Round the Clock Shadow

I can't seem to shake him, my little shadow has been following me everywhere. If I go to the bedroom, he's right there. When I go to the kitchen, he's there right beside me. When I drink some water, he does the same. This is getting really annoying really fast. And there's nowhere I can go to escape this rascally little shadow.

Now that I have my favorite squeaky carrot, he wants it too. But he's not getting it. The old man has already given him all sorts of toys, even a few of my old ones. So there's plenty of other fun stuff for him to play with, he just wants this one because I have it. He's just copying me.

"Go do something else," I grumbled to the puppy.

"Bark! Bark, yippy yappity!" the puppy ruffed back at me.

This was sort of another issue, the puppy was still to young to even know how to bark properly. Right now he just knows when it's potty time, but other than that everything he barks is pretty much just confusion. It'll get better over time though.

I really don't know if I have the patience for that though. And now that I don't have any time alone with my goodest buddy, it really is sort of stressful. If I jump up on the chair with the old man so he can pet me, the little puppy wants to be up here too. And there's not enough room on the lap for both of us. But when I do get down (due to the lack of comfort and his little nose sniffing in my ear), I'm quickly followed by my little shadow that had just whined so badly to be up on the old man's lap. I have thus come to the conclusion that this little puppy just wants to be with me.

I did try hiding to get some alone time for myself. My little spot up between the sofa cushions where only my nose sticks out has proven to be one of the best secret spots. It's the perfect combination of hidden while still in plain sight. It took the old man all day to find me when it was the last bath-day and proved to be a good spot in my current situation.

Eventually he finds me though, and I have to either move to a new spot or wait for my pup-sonal space to be intensely invaded by a licky-puppy. Yeah, it's not just that he wants to be around me and follow me around, he does the worst thing I can possibly imagine...he snuggles with me! Even though I grumble and growl and push him away, he snuggles right back up to me and gives me all the licks right in my eyes and ears. And nose.

This is driving me crazy, I don't know what to do. I'm stuck between the sofa cushions and a tiny fuzzball that can't stop licking. And to make matters worse, the licking has moved on to chewing. Yes, he is now chewing my ear with those tiny little puppy teeth that actually really really hurt. Plus, it only hurts worse if I try to tug away. All I can do is grumble and growl.

Fortunately the old man has arrived to save me from all these snuggles and nibble pinches. I don't know if he heard my groans of pain or maybe it's just time for the little puppy to go out to get his potty training. Regardless, he's taken the rascal with him and I know the old man likes the snuggles, so let him have it all. As for me, I need a vacation.
